PRIVATE CLAYGROUND
Here are a few sculpts and experiments with SuperSculpey that I made over the years. Ever since I’ve been a wee lad I test out different media as creative outlets. Sculpting somehow stuck with me.
Balrog of Morgoth
Since she is one of the biggest Lord of the Rings nerds I know, I sculpted this little corrupted Maia, a Balrog serving Morgoth, as a birthday gift for a friend in 2019.
The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn!
Cthulhu
This idol is an homage to one of my favorite stories in fiction „The Call of Cthulhu“ by H. P. Lovecraft. It is described as „carved from a mysterious greenish-black stone“ and showing a being of a „bloated corpulence, and squatted evilly on a rectangular block or pedestal“. This is actually the third version I made. The first one haunts the homestead of one of my closest friends and the second version (see top right) was inspired by a reference picture from ages ago.
Viking Chess
No, not the yard game. These gals and guys are the prototypes for small figurines I plan on duplicating using resin and then assembling my own custom Viking-themed chessboard! The pawns and rooks do need an update beforehand though!
