Digging for water

Savanna

A stampede rocks Intels Brand Story Wall in Santa Clara, California to the core. Terraform a landscape using your hands and bring it to life!

In detail

With the help of six Intel® RealSense™ cameras, visitors in front of the Brand Story Wall LED screen are tracked and depth data is generated. Depending on the distance from a visitor’s hands and the screen, he/she can dig into the virtual earth layers. After a while, one will find water which will soon start teeming with life like schools of fish and even whales. On land, small oases will form and attract playful antelopes. But look out! If you wait for too long or dig too deep, a sandstorm trailing a massive stampede of elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, hippos and other animals will sweep the land and the cycle begins anew!

To ensure that the stampede will take the ever-changing landscape into account, we’ve implemented an AI which regularly scans the terrain height data provided by the earth layers and plans the stampedes‘ path accordingly.
